FAQ

Fast, local stump grinding — answers and action

Need a stump gone? We show up fast, grind it down safely, and leave your yard clean.

Service & What to Expect

Our process — simple, safe, done right

We grind the stump, remove trip hazards, and restore your yard for planting or landscaping.

What exactly is stump grinding — do you remove the whole tree?

We grind the stump and main roots below ground level using specialized grinders. Tree removal (felling) is different; if your tree is still standing we can recommend a local arborist. Our work removes the safety hazard and prepares the area for replanting or lawn.

How deep do you grind the stump?

Standard grind is 4–8 inches below or until satisfactory depth, depending on your plan. Want to replant right over it? We can grind deeper on request to make planting easier.

How long will the job take?

Typical residential stumps: 15–45 minutes each; large/complex stumps take longer. Jobs finish faster with easy access and no obstructions. We’ll give a time estimate during the free quote.

Cost, Scheduling & Availability

Pricing & booking — straightforward and transparent

No surprises. We price by stump size, number, access and root complexity — free on‑site estimates.

How much will my stump grinding cost?

Pricing depends on stump diameter, number of stumps, root spread, and site accessibility. We provide free on‑site, written quotes before any work. Send photos for a quick preliminary estimate online.

Do you offer multi‑stump discounts or package pricing?

Yes. We provide volume discounts for multiple stumps and can bundle jobs for the same visit to save you time and money. Ask about package pricing when you request your estimate.

How do I schedule, and how fast can you respond?

Typical residential stumps: 15–45 minutes each; large/complex stumps take longer. Jobs finish faster with easy access and no obstructions. We’ll give a time estimate during the free quote.

Prep, Safety & Permits

Prep & protection — what you need to know

We handle the heavy machinery and safety — you handle the view.

What do I need to do before you arrive?

Clear loose items (toys, furniture), mark sprinkler heads and underground utilities if known, and keep pets/people clear during work. If you don’t know utility locations, we’ll advise next steps or recommend contacting utility‑location services.

Are permits required?

In most residential cases, stump grinding doesn’t require a permit. Exceptions exist for protected trees or homeowners associations. We’ll tell you if your property likely needs permits and can advise on local South Lake Tahoe rules.

Is your crew insured and safe?

Yes — our crew is trained, licensed where required, and fully insured. We follow safety protocols and protect your property with mats and bumpers where needed.

Aftercare, Cleanup & Guarantee

After the grind — cleanup, reuse, and guarantees

We leave your yard clean and give options for what to do with the wood chips and hole.

What happens to the wood chips and debris?

we can haul all grindings away (disposal fee), leave chips on site for you to use as mulch, or fill the hole and topsoil it for immediate lawn patching. Tell us your preference at booking.

Can I replant where the stump was?

Yes. After grinding and proper backfill, most homeowners replant trees, shrubs, or lawn. We’ll recommend the best grind depth and backfill approach based on your planting plan.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes — we stand behind our work. We guarantee professional grinding, thorough cleanup, and customer satisfaction. If you’re not happy, call us and we’ll make it right.
